Jake T. Austin n; born December 3, 1994) is an American actor. Beginning a career as a child actor at the age of seven, Austin is a five-time Young Artist Award nominee, best known for his role as Max Russo, the youngest of three wizards on the Disney Channel original series Wizards of Waverly Place, and as the voice of Diego, the 8-year-old animal rescuer on theNickelodeon animated series Go, Diego, Go!. Jake co-starred in the series The Fosters as Jesus Foster before being replaced with Noah Centineo. Jake attends the Professional Children's School in Manhattan, New York City.

December 3, 2009 – Four Nigerian Farmers, aided by the organization – Friends of the Earth Netherlands – sued Royal Dutch Shell at a court in The Hague. The farmers alleged that Shell, through its operations in Nigeria’s Niger Delta, contaminated their farms and ponds, destroying the sources of their livelihood.

1997 – In Ottawa, Canada, representatives from 121 countries sign the Ottawa Treaty prohibiting manufacture and deployment of anti-personnel landmines. The United States, People's Republic of China, and Russia do not sign the treaty, however.

1999 – NASA loses radio contact with the Mars Polar Lander moments before the spacecraft enters the Martian atmosphere.

2014 – The Japanese space agency, JAXA, launches the space explorer Hayabusa 2 from the Tanegashima Space Center on a six-year round trip mission to an asteroid to collect rock samples.
