Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda, the former governorship candidate of Unity Party of Nigeria, (UPN), Ogun State has commended the Nigeria Police Force for its prompt rescue of the former Minister of Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo.
Paseda made the commendation in a statement signed on Wednesday and made available to news men while in the northern past of the country.
It would be recalled that the former Minister and the first female Senator from Ogun State, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo was kidnapped on Thursday, April 28th along Igbogila in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State .
According to him, the news of the kidnapped of the erstwhile Senator was received with shock and sadness when announced.
“For a woman of the status of Anisulowo to have been so kidnapped in broad daylight was very sad indeed.
“It was even more worrisome that the kidnap itself was said to have been carried out by heavily armed youths.
“Glory be to the most high God and thumbs up for the men of Nigerian Police, Ogun State command led by CP Abdulmajid Ali and, all other security forces for the professionalism deployed in the rescue mission, which eventually led to the arrest of the culprits.
“At this juncture, the government need to address the issue of mass unemployment in the polity, while also embarking on a reorientation of the citizenry especially the youthful population on the values of hard work to earn money in decent ways for decent living”, he said.
It was therefore a great relief when the news of the woman’s successful rescue by men of the Ogun State Police Command came.
Paseda urged Nigerians to thank God who made it possible for the successful rescue of the former Minister.
He said it was imperative, and therefore, government must properly equip the police effectively so as to continue carrying out their duties.
The founder, Paseda Legacy Foundation urged governments at all levels to create jobs for the teeming youths so as to reduce social vices and alleviate poverty among many other challenges facing the youth in the country.
He, however, rejoiced with the Senator and her entire family for being alive to witness this joyous news.
“It is with utmost joy in my heart to congratulate the former Minister, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo and her household for being alive to celebrate this joyous news.
