As part of activities marking the 40th Anniversary of the creation of Ogun State, the semi final of school quiz competition was held today for schools in the three Senatorial Districts of the State. Speaking at the occasion, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Modupe Mujota, said the competition was meant to expose students to past and recent history of the State. The Commissioner who was represented by the Director of Education Support Services, Mr Martins Akinsolu, said indigenes of the State have excelled in every human endeavours and have contributed to the development of Nigeria, hence the need to expose the young ones to the feats of the State icons and important features of the State. While applauding students for their knowledge of the State history, she admonished them to study hard so that they could make positive impact in the future. At the end of the semi final, Abeokuta Grammar School and Pakoto High School, Ifo, emerged as winners to represent Ogun Central District, Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu and Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode, will represent Ogun East, while Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro and Yewa College, Ilaro will represent Ogun West Senatorial District. The final of the competition comes up on the 29th of this month at Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
